THE PHOTO SESSION STEP BY STEP

To help you better understand what to expect, I’ve summarised the process from booking your session all the way to receiving your final images. If anything feels unclear or you have any questions along the way, don’t hesitate to reach out – I’ll be happy to help! 🤍

1: Select session, place order

  • Once you have browsed through the portfolio and you are interested in a similar shoot, you will find the current photography sessions to choose from under “Sessions, prices“.
  • Once you’ve chosen the one that suits you best, you can book your session in one of the following ways:
  1. By filling out the contact form – this will send your message directly to my inbox.
  2. By sending me a separate email at contact@thedogphoto.com.
  3. By calling me on 07550010533.

2: Planning your session

  • Before the session, we’ll discuss all the important details together. My goal is to tailor the experience to your ideas and your dog’s needs.
  • Whether you already have a clear vision in mind or you’d prefer to leave everything to me, I’ll make sure the session is relaxed, fun, and thoughtfully planned.
  • If you already have a specific location in mind, I’m more than happy to tailor everything around that. If you’d prefer, I can also recommend a few well-tested locations that work beautifully for photoshoots. Alternatively, if that feels more comfortable or convenient for you, I’m also very happy to come to your home and do the session in your garden or outdoor space. I really enjoy working in more personal, relaxed environments as well, so we can always choose whatever option feels easiest and most natural for you.
  • To help me create the best possible experience for your dog, I’ll ask a few things – like what they’re like, what environments they feel comfortable in, and anything else you think I should know.
  • After we’ve discussed and agreed on all the details of the session, I will also send you a simple confirmation contract. This is not meant to be formal or complicated, it simply helps to make sure everything we’ve discussed is clearly written down in one place, so both of us feel confident and aligned before the shoot. It keeps things transparent, easy, and stress-free for everyone involved.

3: The Session

  • The session itself is a relaxed and natural experience, guided by your dog’s pace and personality. When needed, I gently direct the session in a way that helps create beautiful, natural portraits, while always keeping the flow easy and stress-free.
  • We take breaks whenever needed, and you can stop as many times as you like to play with your dog or simply enjoy the moment together, there is absolutely no rush or pressure. I truly want this to feel like a positive experience for your dog as well, not just a photoshoot. In fact, some of the best and most authentic images happen during these playful, in-between moments, and I always keep my camera ready to capture them as they unfold. My goal is for the whole experience to feel light, enjoyable, and fully centered around your dog’s comfort and happiness.

4: Editing the photos

  • After the shoot, I’ll begin carefully editing your images. You can expect to receive the final photos within three weeks of the session.
  • To give each image the care and attention it deserves, I kindly ask for your patience – especially as some sessions may require the full timeframe. If you’ll need the images sooner, just let me know ahead of time and we’ll find a solution together.
  • My editing process mainly includes colour and light adjustments to bring out the best in your photos. I do not apply unrealistic or artificial edits to pets or people – I believe in capturing natural beauty as it is.

5: Delivering your photos

  • I do not deliver unedited (RAW) images – you’ll receive a carefully curated selection of fully edited photographs, delivered via a private online gallery.
  • You’ll get the gallery link by email, and your photos will be available to download for one week.
  • All images will be in .jpg format, and you’ll receive two sizes of each photo:
    -a high-resolution version for printing,
    -and a web-optimised version for easy sharing on platforms like Instagram or Facebook.
